My cat is beginning to age a bit now. She's almost 9 years old, and has slowed down a lot. She seldom gets excited about a toy any more. And we've bought them all for her at one time or another. But one thing she has always loved are the cardboard scratchers that come with a pouch of cat nip. She'll work for hours sometimes just scratching the cardboard and rubbing the catnip. It must be Nirvana for cats!

So when I saw this Mix and Scratch from Petstages I simply had to get one to see if she would enjoy this! And boy does she ever!  She will scratch away at the catnip infused cardboard for quite a while. And then suddenly, the little ball, within its own circular track, will jingle, and she is off to races to see how fast she can move it around in circles! She'll work at it for quite a while before finally giving up and getting back to the scratching part.

I love how you could buy several of these and snap them together for multiple cats, or to give your cat multiple places to scratch!

There is no assembly. Just open the package, set the scratch mat on the floor, and kitty will come running!

I received this, thinking I could use it for some much needed office storage if nothing else.

This storage bin is a nice sized (12"H x 12"W x 12" D), collapsible, vinyl bin, with a clear window in the front. It's designed for kids toys and such, which is perfect considering the clear window in the front! Kids could easily see their own toy box or personal items as opposed to accidentally getting into another child's storage box. It's a great concept!

However, I can't even begin to recommend this. It came out of the package with a very strong vinyl smell (think cheap summer float smell). I thought if I wiped it off that the smell would go away. But it didn't. And then I noticed that the more I handled it, the more I began to break out in small pimply hives. Yep. you got it! I'm allergic to certain vinyl products, and this just happens to be one of them.

While your child may not have an allergy to vinyl, I still would not recommend it.

The powerful vinyl smell has overpowered my office space. And my dog came in and sniffed it and began to whimper and back up from it.

Enough said.

While the photo above shows the Homestyle Chicken Stew, I received the beef stew flavored pack.

I opened a bowl and set it down in front of my Chihuahua, who oddly enough doesn't eat dog food, only cat food. She went wild for it! Then the cat came forward, shoved the dog out of the way, and we nearly had a fight! I had to open a second bowl!

I have to tell you, when I opened the bowl up, it not only looked like homemade beef stew, but it smelled like it as well. You could see big chunks of beef and vegetables! It looked so good! And when I first gave it to my babies, I really thought I was doing a good thing.

Sadly enough, while it doesn't say anything about it on the container, my vet said it was obviously made for larger breeds of dogs. One bowl, and my poor Chihuahua had horrible diarrhea. And it wouldn't stop. Which is where the vet came in.

I was reprimanded for feeding my cat dog food. And for feeding my dog something that was made for a large breed of animal. So, while it might look good, and smell good, and your pet will most likely devour it as mine did, please purchase responsibly, and do not give this to small breed dogs, and definitely not to your feline baby either!

I take full responsibility for the fiasco, and cannot blame the product. The vet said it is a brand that she highly recommends, due to its natural ingredients.

With that said, and I have given my warning for small pets, I still give this product five stars,

and a big thumbs up.

About 26 years ago, I slipped when walking downhill on wet grass one early morning. I made an attempt to catch myself from the fall. In doing that, I literally shattered my right ankle. And the surgery to repair the mess included two plates 8 screws and wire. So, whenever there is a weather change (heat, cold, change in barometric pressure) I have this lovely little early warning device called my ankle!

The only way I have ever got any relief was with a compression sleeve, or a brace. In my career, as a nurse/social worker, I find the brace a bit cumbersome. A good sleeve does wonders for the ache I have, however! The problem is that I wear a sleeve out. Literally. And when I find one I like, I go back for another.
